RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury), or CTD (Cumulative Trauma Disorder) is the name used for injuries, caused by repetitive movements or static load. The term is used for a collection of problems with muscles, tendons and nerves, mostly due to short cyclic movements.

Computer users mostly suffer from pain in the:

  • Neck.
  • Shoulder.
  • Arm.
  • Wrist.
  • Fingers.

RSI problems manifests themselves in phases. It is important to every computer user to know and recognize these phases.

In most cases, problems start at the hand or arm, from where they often expands rapidly. Both mouse and keyboard use may cause RSI (See What causes RSI).

Once injuries have occurred, they tend to get worse easily if not treated in time. Take at least the following actions immediately:

  1. Take your injury seriously!
  2. Reduce the work you do on the computer.
  3. Install RSI-Master now and configure the personal settings
  4. Consult a MD, preferably one with experience in and knowledge of RSI problems.
  5. Consult an Ergonomic counselor and follow the advises (See The optimal posture).
  6. Take the your injury even more serious and listen to your body.
